Self Respect
Founder - Editor - Host
About self-respect, Charlie Chaplin wrote, "You have to
believe in yourself, that's the secret. Even when I was in the
orphanage, when I was roaming the street trying to find enough
to eat, even then I thought of myself as the greatest actor in
the world." Self-belief is not egotistical. It is an
element that pulls a human being through the rough spots in a
life that is not always perfect.
A vision of the big picture is nothing more than imagination,
if the elements of self-belief and self-confidence are not a
part of this vision. Belief and confidence are necessary
elements that "power-up" your dreams.
"Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must
have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We
must believe that we are gifted for something and that this
thing must be attained," said the great research scientist
Marie Curie, discoverer of the mysterious element radium.
Madame Curie became a global leader in the world of medical
treatment, despite the adversities in her path. As a young
"woman," she was not permitted to attend the University of
Warsaw for further education. Her will to become educated was
so strong, however, that she attended the "floating
university" at night, one that changed locations to avoid
detection by the czar's police. She became the first woman to
receive her doctorate in France. Through her research work,
she paved the way to a new era in medicine.
"Having once decided to achieve a certain task, achieve it at
all costs of tedium and distaste. The gain in self-confidence
of having accomplished a tiresome labor is immense," wrote
Arnold Bennett. You will discover, in yourself, keys to the
mystery of self-empowerment. Once energized, self-empowerment
is impossible to stop. It sets you on a track that hurls you
toward success at lighting speed.
Energize the power of self-empowerment in your own life. You
have great talents that can benefit the world. Do not be
discouraged if the road in the beginning seems ambiguous and
slow-moving. Self-confidence and self-respect grow with every
gained success, however small at first. You will soon
discover that your knowledge and talent have surpassed others,
who may have given up along the way.
Persevere with belief! Give us the gifts that only your
talent and enthusiasm can provide!
