Goal Setting
Founder - Editor - Host
It is December in the great Northeast section of the United
States. There is a pleasant, crisp chill in the air. The
hillsides are aglow with sparkling white lights, flecked with
occasional hints of color. Everywhere folks are exchanging
pleasantries, unless they're fighting for that parking space
at the local mall.
Focus is critical at this time of year. There are a multitude
of interests competing for your time, and it is critical that
you stay alert for opportunities that will enhance your life
and merit your directed action.
Oftentimes you may be annoyed by the many aspects of life that
seem to be coming at you like a thousand lightning bolts.
"New ideas stir from every corner. They show up disguised
innocently as interruptions, contradictions and embarrassing
dilemmas. Beware of total strangers and friends alike who
shower you with comfortable sameness, and remain open to those
who make you uneasy, for they are the true messengers of the
future," wrote Rob Lebow.
Stay alert for the situations in your daily life that are
screaming the word "opportunity." The decisions you make, or
avoid making, at this time of year can effect the direction of
your life in the months to come.
"What you are is the result of your genes and your history.
But it is you who decides what you will do," says Roy Halliday.
Make the decision to be self-determining, no matter what time
of year it is, and regardless of the current circumstances.
Follow through with the goals you have set for yourself.
Remain focused on the results you want, and make every action
a part of that result.
Your life's direction and the success you attract are your
ultimate decisions. Make a pact with yourself to keep focused
on the big picture. When you have a view from the
mountaintop, you can see the hills and forests along the way,
knowing that the reward awaits after the last rocky
prominence.
Stay focused. Keep going.
