Self-Confidence
Founder - Editor - Host
Did you know that the Number One characteristic that holds
people back and denies them success is lack of
self-confidence?
People of great success have spoken of this repeatedly. You
have seen it in everyday situations: The brilliant woman who
cowers when she needs to give a presentation…the man who loses
his nerve in front of the administrative team and fails to
make a strong impression.
"You can't always wait for the guys at the top. Every manager
at every level in the organization has an opportunity, big or
small, to do something. Every manager's got some sphere of
autonomy. Don't pass the buck up the line," said Bob
Anderson. How many times have you heard someone pass the buck
up the line? It's a common habit.
Concerning this lack of confidence in oneself, Malcolm S.
Forbes has said, "Too many people overvalue what they are not
and undervalue what they are."
Self-Confidence can make a huge difference in the end result.
After all, others WANT you to give a good presentation. They
don't want their time wasted. The only reason for the
aftermath of criticism is their own recognition that they have
the competence to create an impressionable delivery, but given
the same situation, have fear of their own ineptitude.
Confidence, with the proper amount of preparation, will assure
your credibility and success.
Are you going to have your life decided for you by someone
else, or will you seize the horns of the bull and ride it for
all you're worth?
My dear friend Les Brown says, "If you view all the things
that happen to you, both good and bad, as opportunities, then
you operate out of a higher level of consciousness." You
become more aware, more alert, of life as it happens. You
become the master of your choices.
"Getting ahead in a difficult profession requires avid faith
in yourself. That is why some people with mediocre talent,
but with great inner drive, go so much further than people
with vastly superior talent," says Sophia Loren.
There you have it! Have faith in yourself. Prepare by
careful research, practical analysis and rehearsal. Visualize
your success. Then go forth with confidence.
