Self Respect

Founder - Editor - Host

We are who we are, are we not?  Sir Winston Churchill said, "We are all worms.  I believe I am a gloworm."  A positive comment from a man who made an astounding mark in the world.  Belief in yourself and acceptance of your abilities is powerful soil in which to plant great accomplishments.

Observe the people with whom you come into contact on any given day.  How many are enthusiastic about their lives?  How many jumped out of bed in the morning and got excited about their day?  How many feel that they are in charge of what happens to them?  It is YOUR LIFE, after all, to do with as you choose!

Observe Ellen Goodman's point of belief:  "The things we hate about ourselves aren't more real than things we like about ourselves."  Too many times, people tend to focus on their own flaws, forgetting about the outstanding talents they do possess.

No one is good at everything, but each has ability that is an innate and natural part of his own being.  When that ability is identified and refined, magic begins.

Dr. Samuel Johnson observes, "Almost every man wastes part of his life in attempts to display qualities which he does not possess, and to gain applause which he cannot keep."

"It's hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head," continues Sally Kempton.

Work hard to rid yourself of undeserved self-criticism and unreasonable demands.  Concentrate on the talents you possess, and create the daily habit of strengthening the quality of the talents that are already a part of your makeup.

Use them to the fullest of your abilities.  Do not procrastinate, in order that you can be more ready at a later date.  While those around you are waiting to be better, you will gain experience exponentially, just by doing.
