Action
Founder - Editor - Host
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wrote, "Thinking is easy, acting is
difficult, and to put one's thoughts into action is the most
difficult thing in the world." When we receive an idea from
our own subconscious mind, or from an outside source, the idea
is usually unformed, an amorphous mass of thought. It is no
wonder that you find it difficult to begin to act immediately.
If you begin the process of organizing those thoughts, you
will find it easier to act. Writing down your goals is the
first step in the process. Then, write a beginning, based on
your current state-of-affairs, followed by steps in-between to
form a tangible link to your goal. As you expound on your
goal, you will begin to observe more complex steps needed to
get from point A to point B. You will expose areas of
weakness, which will propel you to become more adept in your
field, or hire someone who can fill the gap. You will see
your strengths, and set up intermediate steps in which you can
use your abilities. You may discover gaps, and consult with
authority figures who can help you achieve the results you
need.
This will lay the foundation for a direction. Then begin to
act! "Begin today!" wrote Henry C. Blinn. "No matter how
feeble the light, let it shine as best it may. The world may
need just that quality of light which you have."
Once you have begun, the next step is to take action
persistently. "Take action every day - some small dose at a
time," said Jeffrey Gittomer. You are then moving forward,
toward your goal. Even if progress is slow, you will still be
ahead of yesterday. As you observe your constant progress,
you will be compelled to continue onward. It is in constant
progress that you will see magic.
