Norman Vincent Peale wrote, "One of the greatest moments in
anybody's developing experience is when he no longer tries to
hide from himself but determines to get acquainted with
himself as he really is." This is the moment he conquers self
and moves with ability to become a master in his field.
"Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world
straight in the face," said Helen Keller. Too often you will
be tempted to give in to that which you feel is greater than
yourself. You will be tempted to relinquish your position to
someone who is two steps ahead, fearing that you are no longer
making progress. You will perceive others as moving quicker.
They do not have your same plan. They do not have your same
dreams or goals. Although they may appear to be moving
forward, they may only have their eyes set on the next step,
with aspirations to go no farther. You, however, have a
magnanimous plan. Pursue your dream.
There is great strength in pursuing a dream. Mahatma
Gandhi
said, "If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely
acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the
beginning." This is the power given to us by our subconscious
mind. Once you believe you can accomplish it, you will move
forward with no thought of adversity. Your confidence will
grow, and you will forge ahead with even greater
determination.
Marcus Garvey wrote, "If you have no confidence in self, you
are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you
have won even before you have started." You may ask, "How do
I achieve the confidence I need?"
Confidence is achieved with action and vision. You need
both. The more solid your actions, in pursuit of your dreams,
the greater your confidence will be. Pursue your vision –
Clarify you goals; pursue your dream; take action.
