Have you ever wondered what human characteristic creates
"stars" in life? Those people who seem to rise above the
rest, who accomplish the things that others would not dare to
attempt?
Jean De La Fontaine, French poet, whose fables about
industrious ants, brave lions, and carefree grasshoppers rank
among the masterpieces of world literature, said, “Man is so
made that when anything fires his soul, impossibilities
vanish.”
In a recent publication by Greg Hickman, he says, "There isn’t
an obstacle on earth that stands a fighting chance against a
soul set afire with passion, purpose and a single-minded will
to win. Whenever you fix your sights on something truly
remarkable and then set out to make it come to life, you start
a positive charged chain reaction that simply cannot be
stopped or slowed down."
He continues, "In a flash, impossibilities vanish into thin
air. Powered by a determined spirit set ablaze by an
unrelenting fervor and zeal to make something super
sensational happen, there is virtually nothing you cannot
achieve, nothing you cannot accomplish."
In Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill refers to
this moneymaking secret that is behind all great fortunes. It
is apparent only to those who are "ready for it."
Passion is a force that is irresistible to most people. Vince
Poscente tells an illustrative story about the power of
passion. He decided he might like to buy a small fish
aquarium for his home. The man who began to wait on him was
shaking with enthusiasm as he began to "show-off" his fish.
Poscente thought to himself, "Wow, Buddy! Get a LIFE! These
are only FISH!" The sales associate proceeded to tell him,
enthusiastically, about the specific fish, the living corals,
and the habits of the various water creatures. Before long,
Poscente's spirit was infected with the same level of
enthusiasm displayed by the sales associate.
Poscente walked out of the store a few minutes later with
$3,000 worth of merchandise, and an excitement that wouldn't
quit!
The power of passion!
