The Power of Determination

Self Mastery

Founder - Editor - Host

"Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture... Do not build up obstacles in your imagination," wrote Norman Vincent Peale.  Constancy is a vital characteristic of those who succeed.  They go beyond the status quo and will not settle for mediocrity.  They stretch beyond their initially perceived limits, become better, and stretch again.  They are constantly learning, developing new skills, and challenging themselves to develop another facet within their business.  They reach for greater perception and a refreshed frame of reference.

When your mind can perceive a position of lofty success, the path to your vision becomes markedly clear.  You commit to expanding your abilities and knowledge, to enlisting responsible action from experts, and to approaching your business in new and creative forms.  You accept change as the lifeblood of your organization.  You applaud the supportive efforts of your management team.  You become able to see defeats as small battles along the way, ever holding the determination that the next challenge will be conquered and you will ultimately win the war.

"Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even," said Muhammed Ali.  That extra ounce of power is always in reserve.  Keep fighting one more round.  Keep getting up one more time.  Keep reaching for one more match.

Drive yourself with your mental picture of success.  "The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful is the man who will win," wrote Roger Bannister.

Determination is powerful.  Use it as the key to your dreams.
