Take action! Just the mere phrase commands immediacy.
TAKE! Action. How many people avoid the action part?
Robert H. Schuller wrote, "High achievers spot rich
opportunities swiftly, make big decisions quickly and move
into action immediately. Follow these principles and you can
make your dreams come true." It makes sense, doesn't it?
Congruency between your thoughts and the actions you are
willing to take is an important step in moving toward your
goals. Many people make excuses for lack of action. They say
it is because they lack experience. They say it is because
they are such novices that no one wants them. They say they
don't have a track record. They say they have to talk it over
with their wife...or business associate...or kids. They are
smoothing out the edges, trying to get it perfect. They want
to be taken seriously, so they are waiting to achieve a higher
level of credibility.
Examine these excuses, and punch holes in them. Vow to avoid
them because you are your own advocate, the one who takes
massive, continuous action. Define your purpose clearly. Aim
above mediocrity. Educate yourself sufficiently to achieve
your desires, and rid yourself of the desire to get something
with minimal effort. Concentrate your efforts and launch your
purpose with enthusiasm. Cooperate with others by offering
help, asking for support, and accepting constructive
criticism, listening carefully and thoughtfully to their
recommendations. "Many fine things can be done in a day if
you don't always make that day tomorrow." The derivation of
these words is not known, but this is one who clearly
understood the enormous capacity for human beings to
procrastinate as well as their capacity to overcome
procrastination by consistent action through passion. When
you are passionate about what you want, your passion shines
through, and all the excuses melt into a meaningless splotch.
"You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few
people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You
must take action," said Anthony Robbins.
