Positive Appearances

Self Respect

Founder - Editor - Host

In his classic poem, To a Louse, Robert Burns,(1759–1796) wrote:

"O wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursel's as ithers see us!"

The language is a bit straddled from what you may be accustomed to, but the concept is accurate, isn't it?  It is amazing how powerful appearances are - how our exterior reflects what is inside.

"There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered," said Nelson Mandela.  Hopefully, you will have developed your personal self far beyond the point from which you began.  You will have become more observant, finding yourself with greater ability to assess situations, opportunities and challenges.

Washington Irving concluded,  "An inexhaustible good nature is one of the most precious gifts of heaven, spreading itself like oil over the troubled sea of thought, and keeping the mind smooth and equable in the roughest weather."  Napoleon Hill, as well, believed that "A positive mental attitude, observedly, heads the list of the things that make men rich."

If you can recall a time in your life when you were faced by great challenge and maintained a positive attitude, both on the exterior and within your spirit, you will have a clear understanding of the power of those words.  When you face challenges with an upbeat attitude, you will more easily enlist the cooperation of others to help you reach your goals.  Your goals may not be egocentric in the least…particularly when faced with extreme challenge.  Extreme challenges usually impact many people who are depending on you for a favorable outcome, so it is vitally important that you gain support by tapping into services and providers who can open avenues for success.  A pleasant demeanor serves as strong resource, and develops bonds of friendship that can support you in the future.

"In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer,"  wrote Albert Camus.

Marketing Tips

Marketing Tip 1:

"Of all the things that can have an effect on your future, I believe personal growth is the greatest. We can talk about sales growth, profit growth, asset growth, but all of this probably will not happen without personal growth." -- Jim Rohn

Marketing Tip 2:

"Perhaps the best place to begin with an integral approach to business is with.. oneself. In the Big Three of self, culture, and world, integral mastery starts with self. How do body and mind and spirit operate in me? How does that necessarily impact my role in the world of business? And how can I become more conscious of these already operating realities in myself and in others?" -- Ken Wilber
