Babe Ruth said, "It's hard to
beat a person who never gives up." Every success strategist
speaks of this power of diligence. Napoleon Hill wrote, "A
winner never quits and a quitter never wins." Anthony Robbins
says, "You do it UNTIL..." Since this strategy is so
prominent in the speech of the success masters, you should pay
careful consideration to adopting this as a belief system.
I have known many people who
say, " I'll give it a year, and if I haven't gotten anywhere
with it by then, I'll move on." This is classic thinking for
the achievement of failure. You must, instead, implement
strategies that move you forward, with infinite vision on your
coveted goal.
William Arthur Ward wrote,
"Nothing limits achievement like small thinking. Nothing
equals possibilities like unleashed thinking." Have you given
yourself the freedom to succeed on a large scale? You may be
using self-limiting strategies. View yourself as a
professional. Think of yourself as an expert in your field.
If you place yourself in
situations that will challenge you as an expert, it will
expose your weaknesses. This is where your greatest
opportunity lies. When you discover areas that need
strengthening, you have the advantage to plug up the holes.
"You will never face a problem that's not charged with
opportunity," said H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
"Strong-minded, resolutely
willed, you can create out of nothing a great business, a huge
empire, a New World. Others have and they have no monopoly,"
wrote Charles Bristol. The life of Napoleon Hill is a
profound illustration of this. Born into poverty in a little
town in West Virginia, he rose to become an advisor to
President Roosevelt. During his tenure, he wrote
Think and Grow Rich, the most influential success
strategy book of our time. He has long since passed away, but
his words continue to influence generations of people
throughout the world.
The text illustrates the
culture of the day, written in an age when "men only" were
considered the business leaders of the country. How could
Hill ever imagine that his words would influence countless
women in the future? He actually wrote the book to encourage
himself during the dark days of the depression in 1933, with
no plans to publish it. When he reviewed it four years later,
it became clear to him that others may find it to be a useful
success guide.
Mahatma Ghandi wrote, "If I
have the belief that I can do it, I will surely acquire the
capacity to do it, even if I may not have it at the
beginning." Commitment to your purpose will influence your
actions, and you will acquire ability as you move forward.
Everyone who has achieved success began at the starting block.
Vince Lombardi said, "The
quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their
commitment to excellence regardless of their chosen
endeavor." You are the master of your life. Integrate
success strategies into your daily actions. Commit to
winning.
