Life Is a Miracle

Life is a miracle, an expansive journey that gives richness to all who seize it.

Antoine de Saint-Exupery, French aviator and writer, lived the fullness of being during his short life from 1900 to 1944.  His writings were philosophical and incisive, carved from a life that was peppered with adventure and diversity.  Involved in the early days of flight and mail delivery, he gained a bird’s eye view of the competition for speed that was waged between air, rail and steamship.  He moved about the world, settling in France, the Northern Sahara, and South America before returning to France, and finally the United States.  Although he wrote several books and penned short stories for magazine print, his children’s fable for adults, written in 1943, is claimed to be the third-best-selling book of all time, and has been translated into 150 languages.  Of life, he wrote, "How could there be any question of acquiring or possessing, when the one thing needful for a man is to become -- to be at last, and to die in the fullness of his being. "

"The Famous Bill Austin" is an Internet innovator.  He precisely illustrates the principal of success:  "When you take dancing lessons, you learn steps and you learn steps and you learn steps. It can go on for a long time. And then one day, you just learn to dance, and it is so different."

Everett McKinley Dirksen (1896-1969), congressman from Illinois who served for eighteen years, evaluated civic issues as a lifetime commitment.  Of decision, he said, "Life is not a static thing. The only people who do not change their minds are incompetents in asylums, and those in cemeteries."

Maya Angelou (1928-), internationally respected poet, writer and educator says, "Life loves to be taken by the lapel and told, 'I am with you kid.  Let's go!' "

On the burn for achievement:  "Desire is half of life, indifference is half of death," wrote Kahlil Gibran(1883-1931), poet, philosopher, and artist.  This was a man whose fame and influence spread far beyond the Middle East.  His drawings and paintings have been exhibited in the great capitals of the world, and his poetry, translated into more than twenty languages.

Stewart O'Nan (1961- ), one of America's most thoughtful and versatile young novelists says," All stories teach us something, and promise us something, whether they're true or invented, legend or fact."

Success mentor Joe Lewis is the most respected name in American martial arts today.  Lewis says, "You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough."  This is a man with a fascinating biography - a true dedication and commitment to life.

"Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself.. Because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential." -- Barack Obama

Marketing Tip 2:

"I think that when you look at the great politicians, the two greatest in my view were George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, they certainly had character traits. You also know Abraham Lincoln overcame severe depression problems that he had when he was younger, which gave him the strength and the character later on." -- John McCain
