What are the essential qualities that make you an
entrepreneur? That makes you different from the rest of the
crowd? That makes you strive for success? That makes you
committed to win?
Robert L. Schwartz, Associate Dean for Faculty Development at
the University of New Mexico, defines these unique qualities:
"The entrepreneur is essentially a visualizer and an
actualizer...He can visualize something, and when he
visualizes it he sees exactly how to make it happen."
One of America's original personal development authors was
Robert Collier (1885-1950), author of The Secret of the
Ages and Riches Within Your Reach. Collier began
researching and documenting the power of the mind, in an
effort to unlock the secrets to a practical psychology for
success. He wrote, "Seeing all possibilities, seeing all that
can be done, and how it can be done, marks the power of
imagination. Your imagination stands as your own personal
laboratory. Here you can rehearse the possibilities, map out
plans, and visualize overcoming obstacles. Imagination turns
possibilities into reality."
Visualization is a powerful tool used in the accumulation of
riches, both physical and spiritual. It begins with the
abstract of an idea and gains form through the process of goal
setting. Your goals are then embellished with the details of
both extremes, in order that you can "try them out" in your
mind - a sort of dress rehearsal for success.
To the initial embellishment, you then add feelings, sounds,
aromas and physical surroundings. Aah! The plan is
launched. You can fill in the missing parts as you proceed,
delicately nurturing your vision as progress allows, believing
you can achieve it...knowing that it is there for your
satisfaction and joy.
Napoleon Hill said, "Cherish your visions and your dreams as
they are the children of your soul, the blue prints of your
ultimate achievements."
Believe in yourself, in the power of your imaginative
faculties. You have the ability to achieve greatness at the
level you determine. The belief in your decision is the
determining factor.
"The strongest single factor in prosperity consciousness is
self-esteem: believing you can do it, believing you deserve
it, believing you will get it," said Jerry Gillies.
This is echoed in all the power talks of every personal
development speaker, consultant, and coach in the world. If
you can believe it, you can achieve it.
