Imagination

Creative Imagination

Founder - Editor - Host

George Bernard Shaw said, "You see things; and you say, "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say, "Why not?"

Imagination.  The seeds of the future, without which we would still be living in caves, picking berries and searching for water.

Gloria Steinem put it succinctly. "Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities.  Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning."

Several years ago, I flashed into a convenience store early on a Saturday morning, rushing to the coffee counter to grab my daily caffeine buzz.  I have a generally happy demeanor, even when I am rushing.

In my hurried state, I exchanged a few agreeable words with a fellow customer, after which he offered me a free ticket to a seminar on "Goals."  The speaker was none other than Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books.

I was quite ecstatic!  Strangely so.  You see, I had never thought about setting goals in my life.

Although I was completely unaware of the magnitude of this small gesture, it was a life-altering moment.

Once you begin to set goals, to dream of the possibilities, to believe that it can happen for you, forces that create a new reality are put into motion.

Napoleon Hill speaks of this in Think and Grow Rich, a book that sprung from the philosophy of Andrew Carnegie, the steel magnate of the industrial age.  Andrew Carnegie was a strong proponent of dreaming and setting goals.  This one little action is the catapult to your major ability to take action that will change your life!

You can paint any picture you dream for your life.  You must believe it is a possibility, and build congruency with your thoughts by the actions you take.  In the words of Henry David Thoreau:  "The world is but a canvas to the imagination."

Dream...Set goals...Act...
