Harmonious Bonds of Action

Law of Attraction

Founder - Editor - Host

"We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results..." wrote Herman Melville.

Napoleon Hill called it the "Power of the Master Mind."  This is the meshing of the minds, knowledge and spirits of two or more people for the attainment of a common purpose.  Energy that is created through this blending of mind and spirit has an exponential effect.   It fires us toward our target, like an arrow to a bulls-eye.

The Dalai Lama has spoken of this connectedness between people:  "Consider the following. We humans are social beings. We come into the world as the result of others' actions. We survive here in dependence on others. Whether we like it or not, there is hardly a moment of our lives when we do not benefit from others' activities. For this reason it is hardly surprising that most of our happiness arises in the context of our relationships with others."  There is, therefore, a natural affinity to interact with each other in a synergistic relationship that stimulates our minds and supports our actions.

To produce a positive, harmonious system that nourishes growth, you must bond with others in your business and personal life.  Networking should be a part of your daily activity.  In the business sector, use your creativity to build these networks.

Attending functions and handing out business cards is certainly the most common form of networking.  Your business card should be in a plain font that is easy to read.  Black type on a clean white background works best.  You may wish to add some splashy graphics, but be certain they do not interfere with your contact information.  Your name and phone number, as well as the name of your business, should stand out prominently on the card.  If you have a retail or wholesale business that is open to the public, include your address.  A URL address and email address are also helpful additions to your business card.  Add a brief description of what you do under your name or at the bottom of the card.  If you hold distinctive honors you would like to advertise, you may wish to add them tastefully to the backside of the card.

Seasoned networkers will carry a good digital camera with them to functions, and have their picture taken with the most prominent people in the business.  They then make a hard-copy print, frame it, and send it to the prominent person with a brief note about the event, recalling their brief meeting.  In most cases, the prominent person will display the photo in a place of prominence, and you gain immediate recognition among his closest network of people.  You also have the opportunity to submit the photo to newspapers, trade publications, or magazines that have interest in the prominent figure.  If you are photographed in numerous outstanding situations, your inclusion in the photo will begin to attract the attention of people who will offer you opportunities.

Local newspapers are always looking for stories of interest for the paper; make it a habit to do write-ups about your latest activities, and submit them to the editorial division.  Your columns may fall on deaf ears in the beginning, but when they have a slow news day, you are bound to be in the paper.  A synergistic relationship is born.  These recommendations may seem small and insignificant, but can yield big pay-offs when done with consistency.  Most people do not even send email notes of acknowledgement after an important event, so even that small gesture can draw attention.  If you send an email and offer your services, you may be surprised at how often you are included in future events.  Share your actions and your dreams, and build bonds that will be productive for yourselves and those whom you serve.
