Are you now, or are you becoming, a Master of Challenge? When
you are faced with a puzzle, do you immediately embrace it,
making it your own to conquer? Terry Bradshaw said, "When
you've got something to prove, there's nothing greater than a
challenge."
A challenge is that which looks you in the face and demands to
be overpowered. The consequence of rejecting the dare is to
remain living in fear and self-doubt. Challenge is the seed
of self-confidence. It opens up the field of all
possibilities in your life - the realm of consciousness that
allows you to create without limitations.
"If we do not rise to the challenge of our unique capacity to
shape our lives, to seek the kinds of growth that we find
individually fulfilling, then we can have no security: we will
live in a world of sham, in which our selves are determined by
the will of others, in which we will be constantly buffeted
and increasingly isolated by the changes round us," wrote Nena
O'Neil.
You know people who recoiled from the challenge. Those who
just gave up, and now live a life of constant complaint. They
have the choice to change their lives, just as you do, but
create alibis and excuses for their station in life. The
alibis are nothing more than the reflection of their fear of
becoming a self-determined individual. They lack
self-confidence and self-trust. To them, everything is
impossible.
"Impossibilities are merely things which we have not yet
learned," said Charles W. Chesnutt. When you embark on a new
challenge, you will discover many things you do not know or
understand. That is not to say that you should give up, but
rather that you struggle through until you overcome the
greatest difficulties. Embrace them as if you have already
conquered them. Act as if you know what to do, and follow
through on that action. The subconscious mind will carry you
through if you demand cooperation from your inner self. In
this you will find your true strength.
