Commitment

Founder - Editor - Host

"There are only two options regarding commitment. You're either in or out.  There's no such thing as a life in-between," said Pat Riley, suave and unflappable, the most celebrated basketball coach in the world.  You cannot commit to your dream half-way.  If you are going to put in partial effort, you will never arrive at your goal.  As Yoda, the ancient Jedi master in the Star Wars Trilogy, said, "Do or do not.  There is no try."

Vince Lombardi said, "The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender."  Commitment becomes so strong that the idea of quitting becomes impossible.  Your success is determined by that commitment.

"Our nettlesome task is to discover how to organize our strength into compelling power," wrote Martin Luther King, Jr.  When you have never done it before, you set out on a trek, much like an adventurer.  You become Christopher Columbus searching for the New World, or Marie Curie, looking for the secrets within science, unaware of the possible adversities, yet prepared for the fight.  When you meet with challenge, you make note of it, adjust your methods, and try again.  You work at it “until” you succeed.  If there is no light at the end of the tunnel, it is because you did not yet “turn it on.”  It remains unfinished business that will be ignited when success is imminent.

As you progress, you will discover new ways to sharpen your skills.  You will become a different person.  You will become a better person.  You will become someone's mentor.  You may not even have awareness that you are being watched.

Your purpose is unlike any other person's, so protect yourself from the critics.  They are not on your journey, nor do they see your dream.  You will become deaf to their comments when your dream is big enough - when you have committed.  Until you are there, block out your fear of their criticism and carry on.
