Earl Nightingale, powerful speaker, philosopher and
psychologist of personal development said, "We are at our very
best, and we are happiest, when we are fully engaged in work
we enjoy on the journey toward the goal we've established for
ourselves. It gives meaning to our time off and comfort to our
sleep. It makes everything else in life so wonderful, so
worthwhile."
When you are engaged in an activity that you love, you lose
track of time. The satisfaction you gain during such times
sustains you, whether the activity comes naturally to you, or
requires a high level of practice and concentration. After a
considerable commitment of time, initial challenges become
mastered and a new vocabulary moves into position. Your
enthusiasm increases, while your appreciation for life is
buoyed up.
Barbara Sher stated, "Every single one of us can do things
that no one else can do - can love things that no one else can
love. We are like violins. We can be used for doorstops, or
we can make music. You know what to do. " Johann Wolfgang
von Goethe wrote, "The person born with a talent they are
meant to use will find their greatest happiness in using it."
Together, these form a persuasive dialogue for the use of
personal talent in the creation of your purpose in life. Not
only will you invest your natural talent for the benefit of
others, but you will also reap tremendous happiness as you
develop greater sophistication in your respective field.
Use your imagination to make the most of your talents and to
direct your purpose. Maximize your potential. Re-evaluate
your belief system.
There is a belief system that teaches, “If it comes easily, it
has no value. You have to work hard if your effort is to have
value.” In other words, “Hard work yields success.” I have
known many people who work hard – very hard – and never meet
with success. Love what you do, and develop your natural
abilities. What is natural to you may be very difficult for
your acquaintances and business associates. Never
underestimate the value of your abilities and services, and
don’t swim against the current because you are seeking
approval by those who have a flawed belief system.
Choose your purpose based on interests that ignite passion in
your life.
