The Atomic Power of Commitment

Commitment

Founder - Editor - Host

The Chinese proverb teaches, "The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials."   This is important to remember when you become committed to the life story you have written for yourself.  The heat of the battle carries on for a long time, with no relief in sight.  You forge ahead, often losing sight of the reward, counting result after result in a constant stream of disheartened action.

You are on a mission, though.  A quest, of sorts.  You have made the commitment to your dreams, and you are determined to fight on or die trying.  "Always dream and shoot higher than you know how to. Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself," wrote William Faulkner.

If you are going through the process of dreaming, dream big.  When you commit to a big dream, you gain a pseudo-power that enables you to reach beyond anything you have ever experienced in your life.  You strive, tirelessly, with eyes that can only see success.  You become stone-blind to adversity, friction or lack of talent.  You take on an inner glow that emanates to others, having the effect of magnetizing their interaction with you.  You attract what you desire.

When I started dreaming big, I took note of the people who approached me – one was an artist who finally was having a show of her own work; another told me of how two of her sons were in three Olympics for Speed Skating; a 65-year-old man was finally creating his own recording of Italian Operas and love songs; yet another had been an attorney, ran two businesses and wrote two successful books; one was a world-class chef; another, a world-famous author.  The list increases daily, and I admire the accomplishments of so many of my recent friends.  This attraction is too focused to be a random occurrence.  When you focus on great ambitions and big goals, your physiology changes.  You carry yourself with a confidence that is recognized by others, and the achievers will seek you out.  They, too, experienced the initial fears and self-doubts inherent in pursuit of a dream.  They faced the dragon, and overcame the fire of humiliation.

Bill Cosby said, "Anyone can dabble, but once you've made that commitment, your blood has that particular thing in it, and it's very hard for people to stop you."  That's what it takes!

The strength of a commitment - a true, solid, no-holds-barred commitment - creates miracles!  Dream your dreams.  Burn them into your brain.  Then make the commitment to stay with those dreams until they become a part of your reality.

Marketing Tips

Marketing Tip 1:

Websites look different on different browsers.  There can be a significant difference in the way each is displayed,  for example: Internet Explorer vs. Netscape.  Different platforms also make a difference: PC vs. MAC.  20% of computers have Javascript unknown or disabled.  HERE'S THE TIP:  You can test out how your website will be viewed at:

Anybrowser.com

Marketing Tip 2:

When speaking in public, never use a phrase that causes the mind to stop and think.  Although your intention may be good, it is usually counterproductive.  It causes those in the audience to be distracted by their own thoughts, and to lose track of what you are saying.
