A 'What The Hell' Decision

Carolyn Smagalski

Decision

Founder - Editor - Host

"Ever notice that 'what the hell' is always the right decision?" said Marilyn Monroe.   This is a quick glimpse into the belief system of a woman who was massively successful in her time.  The major characteristic of successful people:  The ability to make a decision to take action!

Decision is the opposite of procrastination.  It is not done meekly or without clear examination of the possibilities.  You must develop the ability to assess the situation quickly, apply layers of self-confidence, look at the risk factor, and move with unswerving ability toward a goal.  When you have determined that a decision will give you the results you desire, set up a plan of action with measurable milestones, so you can assess whether your decision needs modification along the way.

Take action in all that you do.  Look at your options, identify where the pitfalls may lie, determine your strategy for turning the pitfalls into opportunity, and forge onward with the belief that you will succeed.  Walt Disney wrote, "I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter."

Complex though it might be, you still have the ability to create massive success, despite the challenges that may arise.  Have faith in your ability to ride those challenges like a cowboy on a bronco.  When you are prepared and have determination, the ride will fill you with the adrenaline necessary to win.  If you meet challenges along the way, seek the support of organizations and people who have the skills and knowledge you need in order to achieve your success.  Make connections with significant players.  The time invested in seeking out and creating these bonds will be worth the effort.  Starting projects without decision on a strategy for success is a waste of time and effort.  Decide to move forward and to keep on it until you win.

Marketing Tip 1:

"Great occasions do not make heroes or cowards; they simply unveil them to the eyes. Silently and imperceptibly, as we wake or sleep, we grow strong or we grow weak, and at last some crisis shows us what we have become." -- Brooke Foss Westcott

Marketing Tip 2:

"I believe that anyone can conquer fear by doing the things he fears to do, provided he keeps doing them until he gets a record of successful experiences behind him." -- Eleanore Roosevelt
